How long does it take to see results?

Everyone's response to acupuncture treatment is different and dependent on the state of their body and it's own healing ability. Results are also based on the condition treated and how long it has been an issue. Typically conditions that are acute are quicker to respond to treatment, while long standing issues may take longer to resolve. However, most people feel a change on some level in just one treatment, and sometimes even conditions which have persisted for years can be resolved after one session. Some people feel an increase in energy after treatment, while others may leave feeling extremely relaxed as a great amount of inner tension is released and the mind and body finally relaxed. Always allow for 24 hours to notice the full results from treatment as that is the amount of time it takes for the body's energies to make one complete circuit.

Is it painful?

Acupuncture needles are made from high quality surgical stainless steel and are very thin, with an extremely fine point. The precise craftsmanship of the needles allows them to insert seamlessly into the tissue gently and without discomfort. Most people experience a range of sensations from nothing at all to a very light or heavy pressure, tingling or a sense of the energy moving around the body. If a strong sensation is felt, it typically passes very quickly.

Is acupuncture safe?

Yes, acupuncture is very safe. The needles are pre-sterilized and disposable and there are very few adverse effects of acupuncture treatment. There is the possibility of bruising at the site of insertion, which is rare, as well as marks left from cupping which lasts up to 10 days in extreme cases.
